Murray returned after his injury with a bang

New York: Andy Murray emerged victorious in his first rumble at the court after a break, in the US Open grand slam tournament, bagging a rather dramatic victory. Having recovered from a career-saving hip resurfacing surgery, he rallied on Tuesday from two sets down and saved a match point to defeat Japanese shot maker, Yoshihito Nishioka.
Murray played a rather risky game, trailing the left-hander 3-1 in the third set. He also took a medical time out towards the end of the fourth set and was behind by a break at 3-2 in the fifth set. But, despite having just returned to the court, Murray played better on Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing Meadows, New York, going 4-for-6 on break points compared to the 49th-ranked Nishioka 5-for-16 in their first meeting, somewhat heroically saving the match point at 5-6 in the fourth when Nishioka sent his return from a first serve long.
Murray, now a household name in the professional tennis circuit has been a three-time Grand Slam champion, was unfortunately riddled with health complications including a major hip injury. Murray's appearance in the 2019 Australian Open was thought by many to be his last go at professional tennis.
Nevertheless, after emerging victorious against Roberto Bautista Agut, one of the most well-respected players in the sport, in a match as long as 5 whole sets, Murray opted for a life-changing hip resurfacing surgery to kick start his return to the career on the court again.
After this redeeming victory, Murray has become an example for the power of sheer will that reflected on his astounding performance during the course of the match. Fans of Murray, are now referring to him as ‘the man who refuses to lose', a title that is well deserved. All the support and enthusiasm for Murray’s return to professional tennis didn’t go to waste, with his fans relentlessly hoping he’ll continue to dominate throughout the tournament.
