PUBG, a game developed by PUBG Corporation and KRAFTON, has been banned in India. The ban was enforced as a part of Indian action to boycott Chinese goods and services amid the conflict between the countries. The ban was followed by the recent announcement of a battle royale game developed by Indian mobile game publisher nCore Games, which is set to release in October.
According to Gondal, the Indian game has been developed since May of the current year. FAU-G, which stands for ‘Fearless and United: Guards’ is reported by NDTV to be based on real-life scenarios faced by the Indian Security Forces while dealing with both domestic and foreign threats.
Vishal Gondal, the co-founder of nCore Games, told The Indian Express that the game has been in the pipeline for quite some time and that the ban of PUBG was purely coincidental.
He also said that the first episode of the game would be based on the Galwan Valley Clash, the scene behind the confrontation between the Indian and Chinese troops, which left 20 soldiers dead.
Actor Akshay Kumar also tweeted about the game and talked about the importance of it in terms of ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’. The tweet read, “For youngsters in India, gaming is becoming an important form of entertainment. With FAU-G, I’m hoping that as they play the game, they will learn about the sacrifices of our soldiers and also contribute to the families of the martyrs; and with this, each one of us has the ability to support PM Modi’s vision of Atma Nirbhar Bharat”. Atmanirbhar Bharat is an initiative where Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraged Indian citizens to be self-reliant and not depend on other countries.
The game is expected to win over 20 crore users in a year. The game’s release timing works in favour of the developers, thanks to the ban of PUBG and PM Narendra Modi’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat campaign.

While talking to the Press Trust of India, Gondal said, “nCore team has in-depth experience in different genres, especially mid-core games.
