Residents of Armenia’s Karvachar torched their homes as they began a mass exodus on November 13, after an official announcement was made by Azerbaijan that they would be regaining control of the Kalbajar district. The Kalbajar region was to be handed over by Armenia to Azerbaijan as part of the most recent truce.
This comes after Armenian troops and the Azerbaijan army reached a pact that was brokered by Russia after six weeks of confrontation that left an approximate of 2000 civilians and soldiers dead cumulatively on both sides. As thousands fled homes from the domain to be captured by the Azerbaijan armed forces after a ceasefire was arranged, houses were set to fire in the town of Charektar that borders the district of Martakert.
According to the sources of Associated Press, Azerbaijan military troops have been making relentless advances, culminating in the seizure of the city of Shusha, post which Russia-brokered cease-fire. The agreement recorded terms that Armenian region outside the conventional outskirts of Nagorno-Karabakh will be progressively surrendered to Azerbaijan. This was fought by the civilians as they signed homes with observable thick tufts, saying they can't leave their region to the Turks. Further, the regular people said that they planned to burn all homes until late, rescuing the metal rooftop boards and different parts into loaders. "Eventually, we will explode it or set it ablaze, altogether not to leave anything to Muslims," a resident Dadevusyan said of his home, "We are destitute now, don't have a clue where to go and where to live. It is hard," said the spouse.
Furthermore, after the military marched into this territory, Russian President Vladimir Putin asked Azerbaijan to take care of the Ethnic Churches, shrines and monasteries and they are an internationally recognised enclave in the Kalbajar territory.
